‘Arsenal first and foremost’ – Gunners ‘very interested’ in signing €45m+ striker, competition should ‘watch out’

On January 27th, Corriere di Bologna reported Arsenal are one of the clubs in the picture to sign Bologna star Joshua Zirkzee.

The striker has scored nine goals and registered six assists from 26 games this season and his impressive performances have caught the attention of clubs in Italy and abroad.

Calciomercato now state several clubs are crazy about the 22-year-old and Arsenal are included in this list.

From Italy, AC Milan and Napoli are the two clubs keen on the Dutchman, and they have already contacted their Serie A counterpart, to know their will, conditions and the fee needed to secure their star’s services.

The former Bayern Munich man is the priority target for the Rossoneri while the Naples club have identified him as a candidate to replace Victor Osimhen, if the Nigerian were to leave after this season.

Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis has already had direct contact with Bologna’s Joey Saputo for the attacker.

Milan and Napoli have to ‘watch out’ for the competition from the Premier League, where the player is wanted by several clubs, ‘Arsenal first and foremost’. It’s said the Gunners are ‘very interested’ in acquiring Zirkzee’s signature.

His current deal lasts until 2026 and Calciomercato claim Bologna value the frontman at €45-50m.
