Gabriel Martinelli has been one of the standout players at Arsenal since the start of the 2022/23 season and his fine displays for the Gunners haven’t gone unnoticed.
That’s at least what Mundo Deportivo are reporting, and they say that the winger has emerged as a target for Barcelona.
The Arsenal star is on the front page of today’s edition of the newspaper.
Within the report, it’s said the La Liga are very clear they want to sign a left winger in the summer, after ‘suffering an imbalance’ this season.
At the Camp Nou, they like some players who would fulfil what they are looking for in the market and this includes the Brazil international. Mundo state the Catalan club are ‘closely following’ the 22-year-old.
The South American’s deal at Arsenal lasts until 2027, with an option for another a year.
A potential move for Martinelli would depend on Barca’s own finances and if they can’t sign him or a new player, they would consider giving opportunities to Ansu Fati, who’s on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion.
Mundo haven’t provided any information on whether Mikel Arteta’s side are ready to part ways with Martinelli or if he’s willing to leave the Emirates.
The South American has scored seven goals and registered three assists this season.
