The player has failed to replicate the form that made him a favourite with the Blades, and a lot of criticism has gone his way.
La Provence took a look at what has gone wrong for the forward since his move from Sheffield United, with his entourage pointing to two areas in particular that have affected him.
They claim that the ‘saga of his arrival’ and ‘his price’ have put ‘a bit too much pressure’ on the player, which then led to the classic rabbit hole of ‘too much stress leads to poor performances, which affects confidence’.
There is also the fact that he was first a target for Igor Tudor, who wanted to play a 3-4-2-1 with Ndiaye behind the striker, before Marcelino convinced him to come and play as a sidekick to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Italian knows this, but expects his player to step up, which he is more than capable of.
This is something Ndiaye knows, who is aware that ‘he is bad and needs to do better’.
Should his poor form continue, however, he would ‘automatically end up on the transfer list’ in the summer, and a few Premier League clubs are keeping an eye on his situation.
Despite signing for the ‘club of his dreams’, the transfer has been a bit of a nightmare for the Senegal international, who now has a few months to try and turn things around.
