Juventus were successful in overcoming competition from Manchester City and other clubs in signing FK Budućnost Podgorica youngster Vasilije Adžić in the winter market.
The 17-year-old will finish this season at the Montenegrin club and then join the Old Lady in the summer.
Tutto Juve had a chat with Budućnost Podgorica manager Mladen Milinković and one of the topics discussed was about the midfielder’s decision to pick Juve over Manchester City and the others.
Alongside Pep Guardiola and co., Barcelona were also said to have shown interest in the teenager.
When Milinković was asked if the Montenegro U19 international made the right choice by joining the Turin club or should he have signed for other clubs like Manchester City, he said: “As his coach I respect his choice and I hope he continues to grow in the right way. And that he will leave his mark on Juventus and Italian football.”
The Budućnost Podgorica coach has also revealed the player only wanted to join Juventus amid interest from Manchester City and other clubs.
“…there were many clubs interested in him, but his choice was always Juventus. He never had any doubts. We all hope it was the correct one and that time will prove both Vasilije and Juve right,” Milinković explained.
Adžić came up through the ranks of Budućnost Podgorica’s youth team and was promoted to their first team during the 2022/23 season. He’s made 49 appearances so far, scoring 10 goals and registering five assists in the process.
