Midfielder Pablo Fornals is already making history at new club Real Betis, officially going into the record books following the recent win over Cádiz CF.
That’s according to La Colina de Nervión, who say the former West Ham man scored Betis’ 2500th goal in the First Division during the game, thus writing his name into the record books.
Fornals joined Betis on the final day of the January transfer window but only after late drama following a computer malfunction at West Ham.
That issue led to transfer documents not being done properly and leaving Fornals, as well as former teammate Said Benrahma, sweating on potential exits.
He’s now a Betis player either way and La Colina de Nervión report it’s all smiles so far, with the player ‘already leaving good news’ and even writing his name into the history of the club with his goal.
It made them just the 11th to reach that milestone in the history of the league and means the former West Ham man has joined names such as Oli and Jorge Molina, who scored the 1500th and 2000th goals for Betis, in the history books.
Thus it’s all positive around Fornals so far, who, as well as securing vital wins for Manuel Pellegrini’s side, ‘makes history’ in the process.
