Tottenham are showing interest in Montenegrin youngster Viktor Djukanovic after securing Lucas Bergvall’s signature in the January transfer window.
That’s according to Fotboll Direkt, who say the Hammarby winger is very much in Tottenham’s plans as they continue to look at young talent to develop for the future.
They explain that after the record deal for Bergvall, Tottenham are now looking at the 20-year-old, who started his career in Montenegro and joined Hammarby in January last year.
He has been ‘constantly relevant’ since that point and is the name that stands out most after Bergvall in Allsvenskan. He’s now ‘reaching a new level’ as clubs are starting to take an interest in him.
Tottenham are one of them, with it explained that after a report last week that foreign clubs signalling a ‘readiness’ to spend 150m Swedish Kronor on him, Spurs are showing ‘heavy interest’ in him.
After the deal for Bergvall, they’re continuing to focus on talent in Sweden and the Montenegro international (three caps) is one they are looking at ahead of the summer transfer window.
They have received very good reports on the player and technical director Johan Lange’s interest in the player goes back to last year, starting to following him and ‘take an interest’ in him last autumn.
What happens remains to be seen but the belief is that the summer could be an interesting one around the player, who his club want to sell for at least SEK 150m but will push towards SEK 200m. That would be £11.4m to £15m.
In the meantime, he and his club are remaining calm, with sporting director Mikael Hjelmberg only admitting that there is interest in the youngster.
“I cannot comment on what is going on, but the interest has been great and still is,” he said.
