After the recent rumours that Jon Dahl Tomasson could walk from Blackburn Rovers to take the Sweden national team job, there are now reports that is going to be the case.

This is according to TuttoSvenskan on X, formerly known as Twitter, who report that the Ewood Park manager has ‘verbally agreed’ with the Swedish Federation about taking over.

It’s added that details ‘remain to be resolved’ between the parties before anything can be ‘fully concluded’, but the belief is there are currently ‘many indications’ that the Blackburn Rovers boss ‘will take over’ from Janne Andersson in the near future.

Aftonbladet also say this is information they have managed to get, and they explain the Dane is ‘expected to leave’ his job at Ewood Park.

He was Kim Kallström’s favourite to take the role, and he is ‘expected to be released’ from his job at Blackburn Rovers, meaning he doesn’t need to be bought out by Sweden’s FA, unlike the other candidate, Jens Gustafsson.

They then recall that if the Blackburn manager takes over, he will be the first foreign manager to take over the Sweden job in the history of the role.
