Last summer, Brighton & Hove Albion allowed Deniz Undav to join VfB Stuttgart on a loan deal and this move has clearly paid off for him.
The forward has been one of the standout players for the Bundesliga side this season, scoring 14 goals and registering five assists from 19 games. He’s hopeful his fine form for the club would be enough to receive a call up from Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann.
Bild point out the Brighton owned player has publicly talked about his desire to represent Die Mannschaft even though he could play for Turkey because of his parents.
It’s claimed Nagelsmann has ‘already assured’ the 27-year-old that he’ll included him in the national team squad for March’s international break.
This should certainly please the Brighton man, who ‘dreams’ of representing Germany at the European championship in the summer. If the attacker were to excel against France and the Netherlands next month, it will certainly improve his chances of going to the Euros.
When talking about his qualities, Bild state Undav’s dangerous with both feet and his head when it comes to scoring. In addition to this, his pressing has also been key for Stuttgart this season.
Bild seem to be confident Undav’s future would be at Stuttgart and the Germany national team, and this indicates his time at Brighton could come to an end after this season.
