After what appears to have been some very long conversations between West Ham United and Lyon, Saïd Benrahma is heading back to France.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who have a very brief and to the point article about the Algeria international’s situation and his impending transfer.
The forward, who was a prominent figure in David Moyes’ plans last year at West Ham, has found himself playing far less this season, which is why a move away was touted.
While Lyon initially wanted Arnaut Danjuma from Villarreal, they were unable to convince Everton to cut the loan deal short, and they then turned their full focus on the winger.
Now, they appear to have unlocked the situation on Thursday morning, as Foot Mercato claim the player is now ‘awaited’ at Lyon to complete his transfer from West Ham.
In fact, ‘a plane is ready and booked’ to take him from London to the French town, clearly indicating that the talks that had been ongoing for the past few days have finally reached a point where an agreement has been, or is very close to being, reached.
