Lyon have identified Everton’s Arnaut Danjuma and West Ham United’s Saïd Benrahma as targets in the winter market.

On January 17th, we relayed news from France that the Ligue 1 side continue to negotiate deals for the 26-year-old Toffees winger and the 28-year-old Algeria international.

Lyon owner John Textor has been speaking to L’Equipe and confirmed his side’s interest in signing the Everton and West Ham players.

He made this claim when specifically asked where the potential deals for Danjuma, who is currently on loan at the Merseyside club from Villarreal, and Benrahma are at.

The American businessman revealed that a deal remains complicated for the Dutchman due to his loan status. Despite this, he’s hopeful of an agreement with both Sean Dyche’s side and the Hammers before the winter market closes later this week.

“We have submitted significant offers for both players and we believe both would be delighted to come to Lyon,” he said.

“But their clubs have their own priorities, and Danjuma’s case is even more complicated because Everton, who hold his rights via a loan, have little reason to release him. We hope that all parties can eventually come to an agreement.”

Lyon or any other club could find it difficult to take Danjuma away from Everton, as per Eindhovens Dagblad journalist Rik Elfrink.

He claims PSV Eindhoven had explored the possibility of signing him, but now it’s a ‘long shot’ because Villarreal and Everton have ‘no plans to change anything’.

Danjuma and Benrahma have struggled to feature regularly at Everton and West Ham United respectively this season.
