Olympique Marseille have been ‘working for several days’ to try and sign Saïd Benrahma from West Ham United before the end of the window.
That’s according to Le 10 Sport, who say the proposed move has ‘very little chance of succeeding’ due to the Hammers demands.
They explain that Marseille are looking into the possibility of springing a last-minute surprise in this window after already bringing in four players to bolster their squad.
Benrahma is the man that they’re looking at as the West Ham man is someone that President Pablo Longoria likes a lot, so much so that he has ‘already taken action’ to try and make a move happen.
This was confirmed by West ham boss David Moyes, who confirmed that a bid had been rejected as they need to sell rather than loan players out.
Le 10 say that means a move for Benrahma may be particularly complicated for Marseille to get done before the end of the window, the suggestion being they don’t have the money to sign Benrahma permanently or match West Ham’s demands.
