Barcelona are keeping tabs on Tottenham Hotspur’s Pape Matar Sarr and Newcastle United’s Yankuba Minteh, according to today’s Mundo Deportivo.
The Senegal international has excelled at Tottenham, after Ange Postecoglou arrived at the north London club. Newcastle signed Minteh last summer and immediately loaned him out to Feyenoord.
Both the Spurs midfielder and the Gambia international have represented their countries at the ongoing AFCON.
The La Liga side have sent scouts to follow the developments of the best African talents, including youngsters Pape Matar Sarr and the Newcastle owned player.
Senegal and Gambia were pitted in the same group and they finished at the top and bottom respectively.
The 21-year-old Tottenham player was on the bench against Gambia and was in the starting lineup against both Cameroon and Guinea. The Newcastle man featured in all three games for his country.
Online, Mundo Deportivo has provided a little additional information on Minteh interest. The report states several unnamed Premier League sides are already following him.
The attacker’s deal at Newcastle lasts until 2028, while the former Metz man has renewed his contract at Tottenham until 2030.
Although Barca are watching them, it won’t be easy for them to sign the duo.
