On Thursday, Corriere dello Sport stated both Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford have stepped in to sign Tottenham Hotspur’s Bryan Gil in the winter market. It was also stated the winger will leave the north London club and is expected to continue in England.
For the past few weeks, the 22-year-old has been linked to Lazio and Fiorentina. Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà explains that an intermediary has ‘proposed’ the Tottenham player to Maurizio Sarri’s side.
Lazio see the Spain international as a ‘good player’, but believe he’s ‘not very effective’ with goals and assists. The Serie A side not being keen would come as encouragement for Brighton.
TuttoMercatoWeb provide more information on the Seagulls’ pursuit of the former Sevilla man.
Gil has been restricted to only two league starts this season and could leave Spurs at the end of this window. TMW add it’s likely he’ll continue in the Premier League, where Brighton are the ‘most interested’ club to secure his services.
Roberto De Zerbi seems to be leading his side’s chase as it’s said the Seagulls manager likes the Tottenham attacker. It’s not mentioned whether Brighton are looking to buy Gil or take him on a loan deal.
