Aston Villa youngster Josh Feeney is waiting to discover if a move to Real Unión will be sanctioned, with Brexit complications holding things up for now.
That’s according to El Diario Vasco, who say it is ‘solely administrative’ issues that are stopping the youngster from making the move.
They say Feeney aims to be the first player to make the move between the two clubs, who are now linked together in a partnership after signing a deal late last year.
However, Brexit is causing issues as the fact that Unión are not in a top league is complicating matters.
It means Feeney has been left in limbo waiting to see if the move will be ratified, watching the recent home games against Sestao River and Arenteiro from the stands and visiting Stadium Gal during the week to meet the staff and squad.
It is ‘solely administrative’ issues which are blocking the move from Aston Villa at this point, mostly centred around his work permit.
Aston Villa and Real Unión are awaiting the deadlines the administration could set on when Feeney may be allowed to start playing before deciding whether it is worth registering him after all or moving on.
