Rangers fans, and Philippe Clement, are going to have to make do with stories about Ridvan Yilmaz’s Ibrox for a few more days it seems.

It’s no secret that Galatasaray are interested in signing the Turkish defender this January, and they have made some initial efforts to try and get a deal done.

Rangers have yet to completely entertain these, but that hasn’t stopped the Süper Lig club, as explained by Yağız Sabuncuoğlu on X, formerly Twitter, on Wednesday.

The Sports Digitale journalist reveals that the Ibrox residents and Galatasaray are ‘in talks’ for the left-back, but makes it clear that ‘no deal has been agreed’ just yet.

As things stand, ‘no new official offer’ has been made by the Turkish club for the Rangers player, who will ‘start’ on Wednesday night in the game against Hibernian.

The fact Yilmaz will be in the starting XI of Philippe Clement’s side really does suggest that a deal isn’t close, because if it were, Rangers would try and safeguard the player from any potential injury that could scupper a transfer.

One to keep an eye on as we enter the final week of the January window.
