On December 22nd, ABC Sevilla stated Gonzalo Montiel is set for a quick return to Sevilla in the winter market as his loan move to Nottingham Forest hasn’t worked out well.
This report emerged two days after the Tricky Trees appointed Nuno Espírito Santo as Steve Cooper’s successor at the City Ground.
Estadio Deportivo now state Nuno Espírito Santo’s arrival at Nottingham Forest has seen the 27-year-old undergo a ‘major change’ in the last month. He’s been featuring regularly under the current manager.
Last summer, Nottingham Forest signed the Argentina international on loan with an option to buy at €11m.
Earlier claims had stated the La Liga side intended to cut short Montiel’s stay this month, but Estadio Deportivo claim his exit from the English club has been stopped.
This has brought an ‘unexpected joy’ to Sevilla, because they may be in contention to earn a fee, if the English club exercise the purchase option.
