Tottenham Hotspur’s Bryan Gil has spent much of the month being linked with various clubs around Spain and Italy.
There’s been endless claims, often contradicting, and reading between the lines it doesn’t seem completely obvious what Spurs or the player want to arrange this month. That dithering may be slightly down to the levels of interest not being so concrete. Sure, lots of clubs like Gil, but their local media quickly presents potential downsides when he’s linked.
Wilfried Gnonto hasn’t seen the levels of transfer rumours that he did in the summer. That’s partly because he’s been playing in the Championship with Leeds United, a little out of sight for the clubs who had previously been keen.
During the summer, Serie A sides thought they’d be able to sign Gnonto on the cheap, circling like vultures after Leeds United were relegated. However, that wasn’t the case and even the player himself agitating for a move didn’t help.
Similar to Gil, Gnonto has a number of clubs interested but not quite interested enough to do anything serious about it.
Lazio have been linked to both Tottenham and Leeds United players, and Lazio Press reports they’re ‘on the list’ for January.
Similar is reported by today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport, which states the two are options and better than another ‘bizarre’ suggestion.
There’s been claims Maurizio Sarri’s side could look to bring Antonio Candreva back to the club, but given he turns 37-years-of-age next month that’s been scoffed at, hence the ‘bizarre’ claim.
