It appears that if Aston Villa get their way, West Ham United could pocket a bit of unexpected money in January.
This is because the Villans are reportedly taking an interest in Felipe Anderson, whose contract at Lazio expires at the end of the campaign.
He has attracted the interest of Juventus, but Aston Villa, according to Tuttosport, relayed by Il Bianconero, are among those providing competition for the former West Ham star.
The Serie A giants are ready a contract offer worth €4m/year for the Brazilian to keep him in Italy until 2028, but they will ‘have to pay attention’ to movement from England.
It’s explained that Aston Villa have ‘moved to the front row’ for the winger, who has Premier League experience and would be a cheap recruit for Unai Emery in January because of his contractual situation.
As for West Ham in all this, they allowed Felipe Anderson to return to Italy for €3m or so, with a guarantee they would get 50% of a future transfer fee.
Therefore, if Aston Villa do pay money for it, then some will land in the pocket of the Hammers.
