Arsenal are in the picture to sign Paris Saint Germain youngster Xavi Simons in the summer, if his loan deal at RB Leipzig is not extended.
That’s according to Sport BILD, who put Arsenal as a ‘top club’ in the race for the Dutchman’s signature.
The newspaper covers the situation at Leipzig and their plans moving forward, namely who they can sell to help balance the books and continue buying players.
Simons is not currently a player that they own, instead he is on loan from PSG, having joined temporarily in the summer after a successful loan spell at PSV Eindhoven last season.
Leipzig would like that loan to be extended into 2025 but PSG don’t want to make a decision on him yet.
That’s because ‘top clubs’ such as Barcelona, Inter Milan and Arsenal are all ‘interested’ in the youngster, while Bayern have also crept into the scene of late.
None of those clubs have made a move as yet as they’re seemingly waiting to see what PSG decide to do with him in future, be it keep, sell or perhaps even loan him to Leipzig again.
Either way, Arsenal are in the picture, and it seems their interest from the summer has not dissipated or gone away, at least as far as they’re concerned in Germany.
