Following the recent reports about Rangers interest in Benfica fullback David Jurasek, we get to see some interesting comments in the Portuguese media today.

Those are made by Nuno Farinha on CNN, via Mais Futebol. There, he claims that the 23-year-old is one of the players who should leave the Eagles this month.

Rangers are not mentioned in his comments, and no other clubs are either, as the pundit says there’s a ‘lack of market’ for Jurasek, which suggests Philippe Clement and those above him could be able to secure a good deal.

Benfica spent €14m on his signing, which its a huge investment for them. They seem to be disappointed with his first season, but that doesn’t mean they’ll just let him leave for any offer that arrives.

Farinha claims the Eagles could get ‘creative’ when finding a solution for the player, as they’re said to be open to both a loan or a permanent deal, depending on how much there is on the table.

It should then be up to Rangers to deliver an interesting bid for Jurasek, knowing there’s the chance of a budget-friendly loan. The player is now valued by Transfermarkt at €8m, and perhaps a loan with an option to buy would please Benfica.

Over to Rangers…
