Manchester United are pressuring youngster Hannibal Mejbri to join Everton, although he remains determined to join Sevilla.

That’s according to journalist Alonso Rivero, who says ‘everything will be resolved next week’ in terms of the midfielder’s future.

Hannibal has been heavily linked with a move away from Manchester United this month, with them seemingly happy for him to spend the rest of the season on loan away from Old Trafford.

Everton and Sevilla have been named as the two parties vying for his signature but, it appeared the Spanish club had won the race when a report earlier this week indicated a move to Sevilla would be done in a matter of hours.

That never happened and he remains at Manchester United at this moment in time, with reports claiming they’re reluctant to let him go to Sevilla after Anthony Martial’s failed loan move there in 2022.

Rivero now follows that up and reports that Manchester United ‘continue to pressure’ Hannibal to go to Everton rather than Sevilla.

Why that is the case isn’t made clear, but it seems the Red Devils believe Goodison Park would be a better destination for him at this moment in time.

That doesn’t tally with what the player wants, though, as he’d prefer to go to Spain and so Sevilla are optimistic still that his ‘will, will prevail’ and they’ll get their man.

According to the journalist ‘everything will be resolved next week’ and, for now at least, this little transfer tussle isn’t quite as over as it seemed.
