Wolverhampton Wanderers have seen a bid for Besiktas youngster Semih Kılıçsoy rejected by the Turkish club.
That’s according to Haberturk, who say Wolves bid for the 18-year-old star was rejected outright as they seek to hold onto their rising talent.
They explain that Kılıçsoy ‘continues to make a name for himself’ in Turkey, recently bagging two goals and an assist in the away clash with Çaykur Rizespor.
He has four goals in his last three and is now a potential candidate for Turkey’s squad for Euro 2024, if he continues his fine form.
They made a bid to sign him this month, although the nature of their bid isn’t made clear, but Besiktas were uninterested either way and rejected this offer.
They have no intention of selling Kılıçsoy, particularly in this window, and are protected by the fact they recently convinced the youngster to sign a new deal until 2028.
Indeed, they’ve made it public knowledge through director Samet Aybaba that he’s very much considered their future and so Wolves’ offer was rejected out of hand. Whether they return again before the end of the month remains to be seen.
