After it was reported that Valentín Barco would be triggering the release clause in his contract to force a move to Brighton & Hove Albion, the belief is ‘it’s official’.
That’s what TyC Sports in a post on X, who report on the matter on Thursday, as they claim the Argentine side ‘have received’ the money from the Seagulls.
This, in effect, frees the player from his contract with Boca Juniors, leaving him able to move to Brighton whenever he wants.
The youngster is currently with the Argentina U23 squad for the Pre-Olympic tournament in Venezuela, and already underwent a medical back on Tuesday in Buenos Aires, and ‘will sign a five-year contract’ with the Seagulls, according to the article from TyC Sports.
That will keep him there until 2029, where he will find Facundo Buonanotte, joining Brighton officially in mid-February when the current international tournament comes to an end.
While neither Boca Juniors nor Brighton have directly commented on the deal to date, TyC Sports believe it’s all done, so we just have to now wait and see.
