Once a key player for West Ham United after his €23.1m transfer to the Hammers, Saïd Benrahma now finds himself on the fringes of David Moyes’ squad.
While he has made 21 appearances in all competitions for the Premier League club, a lot of those have come from the bench, especially in the league.
That’s why the chances of him leaving West Ham this January are increasing, with Lyon working hard to sign him, as explained by L’Equipe’s Hugo Guillemet.
Following up on a previous post about the Ligue 1 side spending €15m on Gent’s Malick Fofana, he adds that the youngster’s arrival doesn’t mean the end of transfer business.
He explains that David Friio, the man in charge of business at Lyon, is ‘trying to finalise the talks’ for Saïd Benrahma, who is seen as a ‘priority’ for the French side.
Furthermore, if they do manage to sign the West Ham man, he wouldn’t be their last recruit in attack either, since the plan was always to bring in three players in that sector of the team.
Benrahma has just the one assist this season to his name, which is a far cry from the 12 goals and five assists he managed last season in 52 appearances.
David Friio continue en parallèle d’essayer de finaliser les négociations sur Benrahma et Matic, ses deux priorités. Et l’arrivée de Benrahma ne serait pas la dernière en attaque, car l’OL voulait 3 joueurs dans ce secteur. @lequipe
