In the past few days, reports in Brazil have been linking Manchester City to Fluminense midfielder André.
That rumour is supposed to have come from Spain, where Mundo Deportivo would have a story about this interest. That story can’t be found, though, and that’s more likely to come from Marca, who highlight that Pep Guardiola praised the Brazilian side’s youngsters after the Club World Cup final.
It turns out that the gossip became quite strong, and O Globo now features a serious piece on Manchester City’s alleged chase.
The outlet claims that André is indeed expecting offers, especially from England, to leave Fluminense in January.
However, it’s made clear that unlike Fulham and Liverpool, who made attempts earlier this year, Manchester City placed no offers for the midfielder.
It’s said André and his staff are dealing with this situation ‘calmly’, waiting for any talks to become official.
Fluminense know they’re about to sell him, and according to O Globo, even considered holding him until the summer in case a €30m bid doesn’t arrive, which is actually unlikely. The player is expected to leave for less in the coming weeks.
