As has been made clear by Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham are on the market for a new centre-back, meaning many are being linked with a move to Spurs.

The addition of Micky van de Ven went a long way early on in the season before the Dutchman got injured, and with the prospect of aiming for Champions League qualification, there is a feeling some more personnel is needed.

That’s where someone like Alessandro Buongiorno could come in, as Roma Metropolitan Magazine claim Tottenham are among those interested in the Torino centre-back.

The 24-year-old is described as doing ‘very well’ in these early parts of the campaign, and it’s ‘no coincidence’ that Premier League clubs are circling.

The likes of Chelsea and West Ham are named, before Tottenham are added to the list, claiming they could ‘satisfy’ the demands set by Torino’s president, Urbano Cairo, which stand at ‘over €30m’.

Such a fee means Italian clubs are in a bit of a pickle if they want to sign Buongiorno, leaving the door wide open for the likes of Spurs to make their move if they decide the Italian is the right man to help out Ange Postecoglou and co.
