With many Brazilian clubs pursuing Nottingham Forest midfielder Gustavo Scarpa lately, the reason the chase is taking so long is that he’s not fully convinced of leaving Europe.
However, the situation seems to be changing, at least according to the latest reports from South America.
On Twitter, journalist Matheus Leal writes that the Nottingham Forest player gave Flamengo a ‘positive sign’ ahead of the first contacts.
It’s said the Rio de Janeiro club now have some internal ‘optimism’ about the transfer, and should carry on with their pursuit.
There, pundit Mano talked about the midfielder’s decision to leave Palmeiras for the Tricky Trees last year, pointing out that was a mistake from him.
“They’ll say it’s the guy’s dream… He was in a good team, Palmeiras, and went to hide in England.”
“The guy goes to Nottingham Forest… the guy changes Palmeiras, champions of everything…”
Scarpa is currently loaned by Nottingham Forest to Olympiacos until the end of the season, but at no time do the Brazilian media see his spell in Greece as a problem for a January deal, since he isn’t having many chances to play there either.
