Club Brugge may be regretting their decision to reject Chelsea’s €30m bid for Antonio Nusa in the summer, with the highly rated youngster severely out of favour.
Het Laatste Nieuws cover the player today, relayed by Voetbal 24, and how it has not been a good few weeks for the youngster.
They explain that first after suffering a back injury, it now appears that he is no longer a first-team player under Ronny Deila.
He’s been ‘having a hard time’ trying to fit into Deila’s plans, although the Norwegian coach has insisted that he remains a part of them going forward.
That’s largely because he is the club’s ‘golden boy’, something which prompted Chelsea to make a €30m bid for him in the summer among their attempts to scoop up every young talent in the world.
HLN question, though, whether Nusa can get back into the form that had Chelsea chasing him in the first time. On the basis of his current form and statistics, it is question whether he ‘will soon find his form again’.
They also question whether he’s still worth the €30m that the Blues were willing to pay, saying ‘it has all been a bit much’ for the youngster in recent months.
They say that he is lucky to have ‘a good head despite his age’ but whether that’s enough to help him overcome his current struggles and perhaps get Chelsea bidding again, remains to be seen.
