Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha’s entourage are refusing to comment on a possible transfer away from the club in the coming weeks, with Bayern Munich still deliberating over what to do in January.
That’s according to Sport 1, relayed by FCB Inside, who say those in charge at Bayern are still not sure exactly what type of player they should be looking for.
According to their information there is still ‘internal disagreement’ about which type of midfielder Bayern want to sign between a ‘destroyer’ like Palhinha or a ‘ball progressor’ like Thiago Alcantara, who impressed for the club in the past.
Palhinha, of course, is a player that the Germans know well, having tried to sign him late in the summer transfer window before Fulham ended it after failing to sign a replacement.
The growing belief has been that the file had been closed but Sport 1 insist that is not the case, not yet either. Rather, his agents do not yet want to comment on a future commitment to Bayern but information on that front ‘will follow soon’.
It seems as far as they’re concerned it still could happen and they’re playing their cards close to their chest, particularly with Bayern still deciding what they’re doing.
They’re yet to choose what type of midfielder they want which means Fulham’s Palhinha remains on the table at this moment in time.
