Despite being at Wolverhampton Wanderers since 2019, Hugo Bueno only really made his breakthrough at Molineux last season.

He grabbed the chance with both hands, and hasn’t really looked back, even if a knee injury put him out of action for a few months earlier this campaign.

The Wolves left-back has since returned, making an appearance against Arsenal, and he spoke about his career to date with EFE, relayed by La Voz de Galicia, on Monday.

One of the first talking points was the fact the 21-year-old recently renewed his stay at Molineux until 2028, which shows just how important he is to the Premier League side going forward.

He said: “The club trusts me a lot and that is something very, very nice and special. So that’s why I’m very happy. They were the ones who gave me the opportunity to come here, as a child, to make my debut and everything. I feel like this is my home.”

While he admits that he does miss Spain and does take every opportunity to return there for a few days when he can, Bueno can’t see himself being anywhere else than Wolverhampton for the time being.

Asked where he could be in a few years time, the 21-year-old navigated the answer with great skill, always putting his current club first.

He replied: “It’s a difficult question because I don’t even know what I’m going to do next month, but I’m very happy here right now, in the Premier League. It’s a very strong league, if not the strongest, and who knows. Hey, I would like to continue here, but I also work for big things and, who knows?”
