Oscar Bobb has told Dagbladet that he’s “really enjoying” his life at Manchester City.
The 20-year-old joined the Citizens from Vålerenga Fotball in 2019 and was initially part of their youth team. His development convinced Pep Guardiola to promote the winger to the first team at the start of this season.
Bobb, who made his senior team debut in Manchester City’s league win over Fulham, has made seven appearances this season.
His progress at the Etihad also helped him make his debut for Norway in October. Last week, the Manchester City player scored the first goal for his country in their 2-0 win over Faroe Islands.
The attacker says Manchester City are the best team for him to continue his development.
“It’s nice. It’s a place you want to be. It’s the best place you can be to develop and improve as a footballer. There is not one person [inside the dressing room] who stands out,” he said.
When Dagbladet asked him if there was a talk of going out on loan in the summer, Bobb explained: “It wasn’t that this summer. That’s not the way I want to go. You never know, but I’d rather be at City.”
His contract expires in 2026 and the Norwegian has hinted he’s willing to sign a long-term deal at Manchester City.
“My agents and the club take care of that. I don’t know anything [of potential talks for a new deal]. That [staying at City for the rest of his life] would be cool,” he added.
On his own development, Bobb said: “I feel like I have a lot to grow on. In my head, I can get a lot smarter.”
