Brentford are ‘very interested’ in signing Granada star Bryan Zaragoza in the January transfer window and have ‘the financial capacity’ to pay his release clause.
That’s according to a report in Spain relayed by Estadio Deportivo, who say Brentford and RB Leipzig are both interested in the winger.
They explain that the 22-year-old’s good start to the season, which has seen him score five goals and register two assts in 13 games in La Liga so far, has not gone unnoticed by some clubs.
Both teams are ‘exploring the possibility’ of signing the winger and have ‘the financial capability’ to pay his release clause, which is set at €14m.
Granada have no intention of selling a key player and won’t negotiate any transfer, meaning that figure will have to be met and paid by any club that wants him.
They consider Zaragoza a key part of their plans and the fact he recently made his debut for Spain, which has also not gone unnoticed by his suitors, only further strengthens their desire not to lose him.
Brentford and Leipzig have the funds and apparent willingness to pay his clause, though, and it seems the Spanish side face the real prospect of losing Zaragoza as a result.
