Over the course of the summer, there was a worry that Wilfried Gnonto could be sold after Leeds United’s relegation to the Championship.
The forward had been one of the shining lights at Elland Road during a rather dire season for the Yorkshire side, and with teams such as Everton circling, stories appeared aplenty.
He eventually stayed, seemingly reluctantly, and has paid the price somewhat, with him being used sparingly by Daniel Farke this campaign for Leeds, leading to more stories of an exit, like the one appearing in Monday’s Corriere dello Sport.
The newspaper look at the options Lazio have to bolster their attack, and point out that Gnonto could be one of them because of his situation.
He clearly isn’t overly pleased in the Championship, and the fact he has only started one game since September says everything about Farke’s plans for him.
As for a price, he is ‘valued at €20m’, meaning that either Lazio delve deep into their pockets for him or sort out some kind of loan for the forward.
