Having sold Harry Kane to Bayern Munich, Tottenham never replaced the striker in a like for like manner, at least experience wise, with Ange Postecoglou deciding to entrust the current squad with the goalscoring responsibilities.
It’s worked rather well to date, as Spurs have enjoyed their best start to the season in a very, very long time under their new manager, even if the last two results weren’t exactly the ones wished for.
There has also been talk of a new forward heading to Tottenham in the near future in Albert Gudmundsson, with a previous report claiming of scouts travelling to watch the 26-year-old, which is backed up by Genova Today in Italy.
AS Roma and Inter Milan are both said to be keeping an eye on Gudmundsson, and it’s added that Premier League scouts have been travelling to watch him ‘for some time’, with Tottenham ‘in the front row’ for the forward.
With this in mind, Genoa ‘don’t want to be caught unprepared’, and want to tie their star down.
That’s when they relay information from La Repubblica, who claim that the negotiations for a new contract have ‘concluded’, although nothing official has been made just yet.
Either way, if true, this would make Tottenham’s job of recruiting a bit more difficult, as the Italians would have more leverage in talks, with it also entirely depending on whether the left winger wants to leave in the foreseeable future.
