Fenerbahçe star Sacha Boey has admitted there have been talks with Arsenal, but nothing official at this stage.
The defender recently provided an exclusive interview to Carre in France, when the subject of a potential departure from Turkey was brought up.
He’s regularly been linked with a move away from Fenerbahçe over the last year or so having established himself as a rising player since a €1.15m move from Rennes in 2021.
A tally of three goals and four assists in 72 games isn’t much to write about for the full-back but his performances have been earning him admiring glances around Europe, particularly from the Premier League.
Arsenal are believed to be big admirers and a report at the end of October made it clear that they are expected to make a €20m move for him in the January transfer window.
That appears to be something Mikel Arteta is not entirely comfortable with and so a move for Boey, who also fits into their model of targeting younger players, would make sense.
And he admits that there has been contact in the past, especially over the summer, but no official offer has arrived from the Emirates as of yet.
”I had contacts with various clubs,” he said.
“These clubs also contacted Galatasaray. There were opportunities for me to go to the Premier League.
“There were some meetings between Galatasaray administrators and Arsenal officials. There was an interest, but there was no official offer.”
