Aston Villa signed Clément Lenglet on a season-long loan deal from Barcelona on summer deadline day.
The centre-back has been restricted to three appearances in the UEFA Conference League and has been an unused substitute in eight league games this season.
Sport state this hasn’t pleased Barca, who are beginning to be seriously concerned over the 28-year-old’s situation at Aston Villa.
The Frenchman was allowed to join the Villans on a dry loan deal, to help Barca save on his salary. In addition to this, the La Liga side were also hoping that he would be able to improve his valuation at Villa Park this season.
It’s claimed Unai Emery, who gave the approval to sign the player, doesn’t seem to trust him. If Lenglet’s situation doesn’t improve in the coming weeks, a decision could be made in January, that’s ‘good for all parties’.
In other words, Lenglet could leave Aston Villa in the winter market, even if no one at the Camp Nou has talked about cutting short his loan deal just yet. Sport add there could be talks if Emery continues to leave him on the bench for the upcoming league games.
