Leeds United midfielder Brenden Aaronson has been labelled as one of ‘several losers’ as he fails to live up to his potential on loan at Union Berlin.

MOZ cover the German club today and rank their ten summer signings after a difficult start to the season for Union that sees them sitting 13th in the Bundesliga and just two points outside of the relegation zone.

That’s a far cry from last season when they were one of the surprise teams of the campaign and finish fourth in the table, qualifying for the Champions League in the process.

That led to an exciting summer in which ten new players arrived at the club to bolster their squad, Aaronson among them on a season-long loan deal from Leeds.

He was hoping to bounce back from a difficult year at Elland Road that had ended in relegation to the Championship, but that has not been the case according to MOZ.

They afford him a 5/10 rating today, saying he is one ‘several losers’ in the crop of players to have arrived in the summer window.

According to them he was supposed to ‘liven up the offensive’, particularly in possession, but despite a good pre-season he has not fulfilled what was expected of him.

That’s because the American ‘lacks physical robustness’ and has not been able to use his ability on the ball to any great effect. He has also shown ‘significant deficiencies’ in scoring goals, missing several chances to score and thus get on the right track.

All in all, it appears his loan from Leeds is not going as anyone had hoped, with a 5/10 score seemingly generous given what is a less than glowing report card.
