Anthony Elanga is delighted to have joined Nottingham Forest from Manchester United in the last window.

The winger has managed a goal and an assist from eight league appearances, which includes two starts, this season. He scored the winner in the Tricky Trees’ 1-0 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last month.

Speaking to Fotbollskanalen, the 21-year-old has stated that Nottingham Forest’s project suits him well.

On his move, he said: “It has been perfect. I talked to the leaders before I came here. I know what the leaders want and how to play. The project and everything there is perfect for me.”

Steve Cooper’s side have collected nine points from eight games and are currently 13th in the table. Even though Nottingham Forest have struggled to score regularly, the Sweden international is pleased with his start to the season.

“The season is long and we have only played eight games. We’ve won a few and I’ve scored goals and assists. So, I can’t complain about the start of the season. Now it’s just a matter of continuing to work hard,” Elanga explained.

The attacker spent nine years at Manchester United before moving to the City Ground. He was a product of the Red Devils’ youth system before finding his way into their first team in 2021.

When Fotbollskanalen asked about the difference between a ‘top team’ like the Red Devils and Nottingham Forest, the Swede said: “Nottingham are still a great team historically. They have won two Champions Leagues. So, you could say I’ve gone from one big team to another big team.

“The difference isn’t that big. We have started well in the league, winning games, drawing some and losing some. But it’s a good team, a good city and good players. The season is long and hopefully we can have a good season.”

Sweden will face Moldova and Belgium in the ongoing international break, and Elanga is hopeful to start in these two matches.
