Many times over the past couple of months have the Italian press speculated over which one of Miralem Pjanic and Radja Nainggolan would be sold this summer, and it seems we/they now have their answer.
Now plastered all over Italy is the pretty much done deal that the Bosnian playmaker will be joining Juventus next season, meaning the Serie A champions have the playmaker they’ve been looking for for a while now.
However, this expensive (around €35m) purchase from Juventus may not stop them from going after another of the midfielders on Max Allegri’s wishlist, who happens to be André Gomes, also a reported target for Manchester United.
Considering Juventus’ CEO Beppe Marotta recently stated for the 1546th time (number might not be entirely accurate, but it’s a lot) that their French star would not be sold, it seems unlikely this would happen.
Valencia are asking for somewhere between €50-60m for their 22-year-old midfielder prodigy, a fee most clubs would shy away from, but one Manchester United can pay.
So we now have an update: if Juventus sell Pogba, they will go for André Gomes.
Manchester United remain favourites, then.
