Manchester United have managed to win only four of their last 10 matches in all competitions and this run includes two defeats in the Champions League against Bayern Munich and Galatasaray.
The Red Devils are 10th in the table with 12 points and are trailing fourth placed Liverpool by five points.
According to TV2 Sport, Christian Eriksen has ‘acknowledged’ that Manchester United are currently in a ‘difficult situation’. The outlet has also relayed comments made by the 31-year-old about the Premier League side’s poor start to the season.
“The period we have had now, of course, has not been nice. And with the club you play at [Manchester United], losing a game is really bad. But losing a few games – yes, it’s even worse,” he said.
“We haven’t played the way we would have liked, and we haven’t got the points we would have liked,” Eriksen explained.
In the last window, Manchester United took Rasmus Højlund from Atalanta and Eriksen has already hailed his compatriot’s signing as a ‘wise purchase’.
The striker has scored three goals from eight games and TV2 Sport state all eyes are on him to help Erik ten Hag’s side improve their results. However, the former Tottenham Hotspur star has urged the 20-year-old to only focus on his game and ignore the media.
“I think he’s hopefully thinking about scoring some goals, and then it doesn’t matter what people write or what they say, and that’s how we all feel,” Eriksen added.
