Back over the last week, things didn’t look great for Rangers in their chase for Philippe Clement, as the manager was said to be in talks with Al-Shabab.
Since it was even reported that the coach would travel to Saudi Arabia to negotiate, Rangers were seen as the other option for him and a move to Ibrox slowed down.
Now it turns out that a story from journalist Sacha Tavolieri may be a big sign that the scenario for Rangers is drastically changing.
On Twitter, the reporter writes that Rangers and Clement are in ongoing talks, as he’s one of the ‘main favourites’ at the Scottish club.
It’s claimed that despite the coach’s recent negotiations with Al-Shabab, he’s actually keen moving to Ibrox.
That’s all Tavolieri has to say, and it’s not yet clear whether Clement has completely given up on the offer from Saudi Arabia, or if he’ll just speak to Rangers to have both options on the table and pick one.
Either way, it seems the Frenchman won’t have so much time to take his decision, so we should get news soon.
