In case Leeds United and West Ham United want to move forward with their interest in Kai Wagner, they should have a look at his situation in the upcoming transfer window.

German outlet Sport1 today feature a story about this ‘forgotten’ player, who left Europe to play for Philadelphia Union in MLS back in 2019.

It’s said that Wagner could make a return to Europe in January, as his contract expires at the end of the year, therefore he’d be available for free.

Sport1 managed to learn that Italian side Lecce have expressed ‘concrete interest’ in the signing, also recalling that Leeds and West Ham have held interest.

A renewal with Philadelphia Union is seen as unlikely, as the player has been showing ‘clear signals’ that he’d like a change this winter, especially by changing agents.

The fullback has 176 appearances for the MLS side, and apparently believes this is the time to return and prove himself in Europe.

So in case Leeds and West Ham are still fans of his quality, that’s a golden chance to bring him to England.
