Last month, Sport stated Chelsea were a step away from agreeing a deal with Corinthians for Gabriel Moscardo’s transfer.
The Blues haven’t yet managed to find an agreement and this has allowed Barcelona to make an attempt to sign the 18-year-old.
That’s according to the latest report from Sport, who mention Chelsea when explaining the La Liga side’s desire to secure the player.
Barca sporting director Deco is leading his side’s pursuit of the midfielder, who turned 18 years of age last Thursday.
With regards to Chelsea, the newspaper states they made ‘two firm offers’ in the last two months and the last proposal was around €21m plus bonuses. This was rejected by the Brazilian club, who have demanded €30m for their player.

They say Moscardo, who has already received a proposal from Chelsea, is back on Barca’s agenda after they looked at him last year.
The Catalan club have been in talks with his agent for months and have a project ready for him.
