Botafogo’s Matheus Nascimento has emerged as a target for West Ham United, according to a report this week.

The forward came through the ranks of the Brazilian club’s youth system and made his first team debut in 2020. Since then, he’s managed 11 goals and four assists from 81 games.

His recent performances have caught the attention of European clubs and West Ham are among them.

That’s according to Fichajes.net, who say David Moyes’ side would welcome the addition of the 19-year-old to their squad as they are looking for young talents.

It’s claimed he’s expected to make a switch to Europe in the upcoming windows and his future could point towards the Premier League, where the Hammers have ‘shown specific interest’ to acquire the Brazilian’s signature.

Nascimento is a new ‘pearl’ of Brazilian football, and the outlet states he has potential to become a star in the future, and this has ‘intrigued’ the European Conference League winners.

The South American has a deal lasting until December 2025 and Fichajes.net don’t mention if West Ham are looking at him for January or next summer.
