Austrian side LASK have admitted they will be working on their pitch following complaints from Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp after their Europa League clash this week.
That’s according to Volksblatt, who carry a statement from the club following Klopp’s very public complaints.
Liverpool ran out 3-1 winners against the Austrian side earlier this week, battling back from a goal down to secure all three points and kick off their Europa League campaign as expected.
While it was mostly smiles after the match from the Reds and Klopp, he was keen to criticise the state of the pitch in his post-match comments.
This initially did not go down too well in the country, with LASK manager Thomas Sageder hitting back and essentially accusing the Liverpool boss of being overly precious about it.
It seems, though, his club agree and have issued a statement admitting they are planning works to solve the issue.
“It is a construction defect in the substructure,” their statement said.
“This causes problems with the drainage of the place. We are aware of the issue; it cannot be solved in one day because this is only possible step by step. We hope it can be resolved by October.”
