Juventus are almost certainly regretting signing Paul Pogba.
Having completed his contract with Manchester United at the end of June 2022, the Frenchman was able to join whoever he wanted as a free agent.
During his first season he managed 161 minutes across all competitions, sidelined for much of the campaign with a knee injury. This season he put together 52 minutes before the revelation of a doping infringement.
The Turin club are already looking for someone to replace him, report Calciomercato, and that’s where Arsenal come into the picture.
Thomas Partey has been repeatedly linked with a move to Juventus in recent weeks, and there’s a feeling in Italy that Arsenal could be prepared to do business during the January window.
The 30-year-old appeared in all three of Arsenal’s Premier League games before he picked up an injury, so is still a used part of Mikel Arteta’s squad this season.
Despite that, Calciomercato and others in Italy believe Arteta will look to other options in the future for Arsenal, and that would leave Partey out of the picture.
They say ‘the new Paul Pogba arrives from the Premier League’ and that Partey would be the ‘ideal reinforcement’ for Juventus.
Rumours close to the player are said to reveal he’s ‘seriously considering’ leaving Arsenal in January and ‘accepting offers’ from other clubs.
Of course, the Gunners hold the power here and the Turin club will need to find out Arsenal’s stance before getting too ahead of themselves.
