Sevilla defender Loic Bade has insisted he has nothing but good things to say about Aston Villa director of football Monchi and wishes him well at Villa Park.
The defender has been speaking to ABC Sevilla regarding his time at the Spanish clubs so far after he joined them on a permanent basis this summer following a successful loan move.
He proved to be a key player for the club in the end of last season after cutting short an unsuccessful loan spell at Nottingham Forest to spend the second half of last season with Sevilla instead.
He impressed so much that they decided to make the deal permanent for €12m in the summer, with Monchi, who was director of football at the time, pushing for the move to happen.
It did but Monchi did not stick around long to enjoy the fruits of his labours, instead electing to jump ship and join the ambitious project at Aston Villa.
His move to Villa Park was something of a bitter one, with him making it clear that he wanted it but Sevilla making things complicated until the last.
It led to something of a public falling out between Monchi and the Spanish club, a sad end to a positive relationship over his two spells as director of football at the club.
Bade is not letting that ruin his feelings on him, though, and wishes him nothing but the best of luck at Aston Villa.
“I find good things in Monchi, because he is the person who has made it possible for me to be here,” he said.
“Monchi’s departure? That’s football, people come and go, now he’s at Aston Villa and if he’s fine there, then good for him.”
