West Ham can surely do better – transfer tussle with Sunderland a bit puzzling

Swansea striker Bafétimbi Gomis has been tipped to leave the Welsh club this summer.

The 30-year-old has spent most of the time on the bench since the arrival of Francesco Guidolin at the club.

It has been reported Marseille are very interested in signing the player to replace Michy Batshuayi.

Sunderland have also made an offer for the player, and it now appears West Ham have also contacted Gomis’ representatives, reports French newspaper L’Equipe.

Marseille, however, are still in pole position. The Ligue 1 club are reluctant to pay any loan fee, and expect Swansea to pay a large part of his wages.

Gomis is in favour of a move to Marseille, as he is likely to get more playing time at the Ligue 1 club.

L’Equipe expect things to develop in Marseille’s favour in the coming days.

A financially good offer from West Ham and Sunderland could change things, as Marseille’s offer isn’t really tempting for Swansea.
