Manchester City full-back Joao Cancelo is ‘already in Barcelona’ after arriving at the city to finalise a move to the Catalan giants.

That’s according to Jijantes, who have footage of the Portuguese defender at El Prat Airport after flying from Cascais.

Cancelo has been seeking a move away from Manchester City for several months after an apparent falling out with Pep Guardiola last season.

That saw him spend the second half of the campaign on loan at Bayern Munich, but they elected not to take up an option to buy him and he returned to the Etihad.

He’s since negotiated a deal to go to Barcelona and it’s been pending for some time as they look to activate various financial levers and open up space in the budget to be able to register the deal and have it ratified.

That remains the case, but Jijantes say Cancelo is in Barcelona after flying there today, following in the footsteps of João Félix, who has also made the trip.

They don’t go as far as to say that he will be completing his move to the Nou Camp, or anything of that nature, but the implication is there and there is clearly a belief that his move from Manchester City will be done before tonight’s transfer deadline.
