It had been seeming pretty clear that João Cancelo was about to complete his move from Manchester City from Barcelona, as several reports from the English and the Spanish media reported that transfer was about to happen.
Stories even claimed the fullback was expected to fly to Spain and seal the loan in the coming days.
It turns out that Sport now features a surprising article on this scenario, claiming the move may actually not happen.
Pep Guardiola’s side are also said to not be aware that Cancelo would be about to fly to Spain and sign from Barcelona.
Sport says there could still be a ‘long negotiation’ between the clubs on the way, as apparently all the clauses and talks being reported do not correspond to the truth.
So even though an agreement seemed certain, it’s actually likely that there could be some late drama for Cancelo to complete the switch to the Camp Nou, since we all know he has not future under his current manager at Manchester City.
